Our staff can provide a variety of courses on how to use different pieces of hardware and software that is considered assistive technology. These courses are for people who are blind, visually impaired, learning disabled, physically challenged and or for those who are suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome and other similar disabilities. Courses are typically taught in our state-of-the-art accessible assistive technology lab. We can also conduct on site training when necessary. For those who are hard to reach, we can provide some courses via our distance learning system providing you have an Internet connection.

One of the Academy’s ATEC important goals is is to inform the public about the issues involved when trying to help people with disabilities. Our staff periodically hold public workshops and seminars to keep the public informed and to build awareness. The same holds true for our professional development workshops and seminars. Both public and professional workshops and seminars are held at our accessible facility at 1349 South Avenue and throughout Rochester and surrounding areas.
