PC Remanufacturing Center Volunteer Opportunities

The CommuniTech Computer Remanufacturing Center is staffed primarily with volunteers who share our vision that “ALL people shall have equal access to computer technology, the knowledge of how to use it, and the opportunity to effectively participate in the digital economy and lifelong learning.”  Through the generosity of the City of Rochester, other local government agencies, corporate supporters, and caring individuals, we have received computers that we use to meet the needs driven by the Academy’s educational programs. The combination of dedicated volunteers and generous donations has made a difference.

We offer a variety of volunteering opportunities including but not limited to: distributing refurbished computers to program recipients, equipment and parts inventory, data entry tasks, donated computer receiving and cleaning, installing operating and applications software, testing and troubleshooting remanufactured computers, and building and remanufacturing computers.  Even if you are not technically inclined, we can still use your help.  All of the equipment we receive must be properly cleaned and tested.  An hour of your time makes all the difference.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us.  A representative from the Academy will contact you.
