Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills

This program prepares the individual with intermediate level Microsoft Office Skills in word-processing (MS Word), spreadsheets (MS Excel), electronic presentation technology (MS PowerPoint), and database management (MS. Access).  In the beginning level of Microsoft Office, students gain all the basic skills that they need to create a wide range of standardized business documents. However, if you plan to use or support Microsoft Office on a regular basis, then once you have mastered the basic skills, the next step is to improve your proficiency at the Intermediate level. Once you do so, you will be able to customize and automate the way Microsoft Office works for you, and you can improve the quality of your work by enhancing your documents with customized Microsoft Office elements.  During the last program week, students are required to complete a final project that demonstrates their enhanced Microsoft Office Skills.

Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills are included in the Academy’s Office Information Coordinator and Client Support Technician Programs, but can be taken alone as an enrichment of a student’s basic Microsoft Office skills.  This is especially important for individuals who have previous work experience using Microsoft Office in a business or office environment , but need to refresh or expand their Microsoft Office skills.
